About the preceptor Julia is looking for:

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nursing Education and am seeking a preceptor with a Master’s or Doctoral-level nursing qualification for a direct care practicum, which will take place in the fall semester, starting in August 2025. The practicum requires a total of forty-five (45) hours to be completed throughout the semester. The focus of this practicum will be on clinical prevention interventions.

Student Learning Outcomes for this practicum include:

1. Deliver evidence-based clinical prevention interventions and population health strategies that demonstrate integration of: a. Ecological, global, and social determinants of health; b. Epidemiological data; c. Principles of genetics and genomics, when applicable.

2. Utilize patient care and communication technologies to deliver evidence-based, culturally relevant clinical prevention interventions, population health strategies, and services to individuals, families, communities, and/or clinical populations.

3. Apply clinical prevention and population health concepts to the delivery of culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate clinical prevention interventions and services.

4. Develop a plan to assess the effectiveness of clinical prevention interventions and population health strategies, utilizing health information technology and health data sources.

5. Demonstrate core competencies in interprofessional practice when delivering clinical prevention interventions and population health services to individuals, families, communities, and/or clinical populations.
